Next, Savannah selected the perfect place, a hidden destination, for her wedding ceremony — Pleasant Hill, an historic 1800’s Middle Georgia farmstead, located on a gated 10 Acres near the Flint River in Woodland, Georgia. While driving her convertible into the estate grounds, Savannah felt transported into another era of bygone charm, elegance and distinction.
She was met by event planner, Jeffrey Ballaro, SAVVY Wedding Director, who told her that the river estate was built in 1883, in the Greek Colonial Revival style and still had the original Smoke House.
We’re surrounded by a dozen colonial homes — here on an antebellum trail in historic Talbot County, Georgia — that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places,” said Jeff.
Savannah was impressed by the spacious immaculately renovated interior with heart pine floors and the exquisite antiques and original artworks in each uniquely decorated room. The large formal dining room had beautiful moldings and a fireplace. The whole atmosphere exuded an air of sophistication combined with a relaxed elegance.
“This is the place I’ve always dreamed of,” Savannah said.
